Google Maps no longer available in search on EU countries.

Google has been forced by the Digital Markets Act recently passed in Europe to remove Google maps from search results. The map tab that appears in search results is no longer available for people in EU countries.

Do you think this would have long term effects on Google?

The EU is intentionally trying to limit the dominance of Google in the European tech market. But I doubt other providers can match Google.

I think that the EU has really found a genuine reason for doing that. Mostly have things to do with the security issues for that matter.

I read about this regulation and it has nothing to do with security breaches. It is more of a commercial interest move than regulatory breaches.
