Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted a Catholic priest of Port Harcourt diocese, Reverend Fr. Livinus Maurice and two others in Rivers State.

Fr. Maurice, who is the Parish Priest of St Patrick’s Catholic, Isokpo in Ikwerre Local Government Area of the state was abducted alongside two others whose identities were not disclosed while they were returning from a hospital visitation along Elele-Isiokpo road.

A statement signed by the Catholic Diocese of Port Harcourt on behalf of the bishop by the Chancellor, Reverend Father Bernadine Anaele, said the incident took place on Wednesday, February 12, 2025.

Kidnapping and raping babies are rampant. It's seems you're right that your law there is weak and lacks concern. The Nigerian government must take action on this by sanctioning the police authorities.

I really don't understand the increase in these kind of crimes. I hope they are able to sort it out though, it is really concerning.

My God, that is a scry thing. What happens to the values these people learned during their schooldays? It seems, there is no one they are afraid of even the police authorities.

Hoping the crimes there will be solved the soonest the better. The citizens are afraid to go out alone and to go shopping alone. What a terrible and worrisome situations.
