Hacking of devices when wifi switched on

I have noticed that the devices connected using a wifi hotspot are being hacked repeatedly, while there is less hacking when there is no wifi. Why are wifi connected devices more likely to be hacked?

Devices connected via a Wi-Fi hotspot are often more vulnerable to attacks for several reasons. First, Wi-Fi hotspots, especially those using weak passwords or no protection at all, are easier for hackers to access, especially those looking for weaknesses in open or unsecured networks. Second, hotspots often use default configurations or less robust security protocols, making it easier to exploit vulnerabilities. Furthermore, when connected to a public or shared Wi-Fi network, hackers can leverage these connections to perform data interception attacks, spoofing, or other unauthorized access attempts. Conversely, when there is no Wi-Fi, devices are not exposed to these potentially insecure networks, thus reducing hacking opportunities. Therefore, it is always advisable to use secure networks with strong passwords and, if possible, virtual private networks (VPNs) to better protect your devices.
