Many people are telling that it is not worth filing a police complaint, since they do not take action, especially when low value items are robbed.

No i never filed any police complaint till now, i don't like to do those things, it is better to fix things without going to police, if it goes to police then there is no going back.
It is the worst, especially in my country if you filed a police complaint you will spend a lots of money to get justice.
Online workers, investors are often targeted for crime, their homes are burgled and their documents are robbed for identity theft . So for getting duplicate copies of the documents, a police complaint has to be filed.
