Have you ever watched a movie that you didn't understand what was all about?

I remember some couple of years back when we used to watch movies that we barely understand anything other than following on the actions and behavior of the characters.
Have you experienced something like that?

When i watched Avatar. The whole thing confused and still confusing me till date. Though, my sister always try to explain the movie but to no avail. But one thing i realised is that i don't have interest in the movie therefore my understanding was not ignited.

There are so many movies like this for me. When I first watched the matrix, I was still very young so I did not understand the whole plot. I was mainly watching it for the action. Watching after after so many years, I finally understood it. Another film I watched recently that I did not understand anything was dune. Maybe before watching the part 2, I we take time out to rewatch and understand part one.

It can be so heartbreaking when you spend your precious time watching a movie and unfortunately you don't grasp anything at the end of it all. I have experienced to that on multiple times especially on foreign language based movies.

I had this when I first watched the movie Shutter Island and it wasn't clear to me and even when I finished I couldn't understand it so I watched it 2 more times to understand
