I have learned that most investors don't make it to the fulfillment of their investment goals either by suffering loses or selling their portfolios before the maturity of the investment. What is your take on that?
I buy stocks, mutual funds and bonds. This year, I lost some money in the Hong Kong stock market. But fortunately, I also buy Japanese and US stocks. I have gained quite a lot in these two stock markets.
If the measure of success you mean is making a profit, either from physical or financial investment then I have succeeded. Investment must use cold money or money that is not used for the long term, so that investment instruments are not sold even though you really need money because you also have emergency reserve funds.
