No, I've never transported a computer that far, but if I did, I think I'd wrap it in bubble wrap in a tight box so it wouldn't move around too much, I think it would be the best thing to keep it from getting damaged.
Most of the times when i travel i bring my laptop with me everywhere, when i visit my grandmother i bring ti with me, the distance is about 550 km and yeah i have traveled about 1000km when i got to collage,
