A capybara bathing contest held at several zoos in Japan ended with a giant rat named Prune winning after spending 1 hour, 45 minutes and 18 seconds in the bath.
Animals from various zoos participated in the “long bath showdown,” in which each capybara was measured for how long they stayed in the bath until they decided to get out on their own. Prune was declared the winner at Nasusaki Bio Park.
Kuraru came in second place with a time of 1 hour, 32 minutes and 17 seconds, while Truffle finished third with a time of 1 hour, 26 minutes and 57 seconds. The contest has uniquely demonstrated capybaras’ love of long baths.
