According to the report, the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah is reportedly running out of money amid relentless aerial and ground assaults by the Israeli military.
The report said that weeks of the deadly Israeli offensive against the Iran-backed group has disrupted three of its key sources of cash, researchers told VOA. US and Lebanon-based researchers and US Treasury Department reports have identified Hezbollah’s main cash source as Al-Qard al-Hasan, or AQAH, the report said.
The re[ort added that the researchers said Hezbollah’s other cash sources include Lebanon’s insolvent but licensed commercial banks and cash-bearing planes at Beirut’s airport. Some experts claim Israel has “destroyed” most of AQAH’s branches in the airstrikes in Lebanon.
Another Hezbollah funding source that has reportedly dried up is deliveries of cash through planes flying to Beirut’s airport, particularly from Iran.
It is a shame to see how helpless the Lebanese government is that Iran can freely deal directly with Hezbollah without going through customs. Iran is so powerful and rich has been sponsored proxy wars against Israel for years, Israel finally fighting back once and for all to her survival
