I use to hear that every organization should hire a person that they are able to fire without having sleepless nights. What is the rationale behind this in the business world? And what is it's portrayal in the successful running of a business to be efficient?

This principle is very vital for business and staff management. If not, you would lose your authority as a business manager or even owner.

Every entrepreneur must be up and doing and avoid depending so much on employee. Some entrepreneurs have lose authority over their by hiring some staff that have become indispensable in their business. Secondly, avoid leaking every business secret to employee because they may use it against you tomorrow.

Although it may seem harsh at first, the business adage "hire who you can fire" makes sense. It implies that you should only employ those whom you can and will hold responsible. It becomes extremely difficult to make unbiased decisions when performance problems occur if you hire a friend, relative, or someone you feel you could never let go of.

Every role counts in business. An insufficient employee can have an impact on the team as a whole and even the company's success. Therefore, if you find it impossible to fire someone, they may not be the best candidate to hire in the first place. It really comes down to establishing limits and safeguarding the company.
