How can i effectively use business cards to get connections?

I'm looking for some advice on how to effectively use business cards to get connections. I have a small business and I want to make sure I'm making a good impression and standing out from the crowd. I've heard that business cards can be a great way to do this, but I'm not sure where to start.
Has anyone else used business cards to make connections? What tips do you have for designing and using them effectively?

You can attend programs and seminars where you know you would come in contact with your target audience. Instead of taking too much of their timez you can simply give them your business card that contains everything about your business to them.
