My neighbour's son was driven away and refused entry to school yesterday because the parent weren't able to pay the school fees to the desired percentage. It was really distressing for the young boy.

How can parents manage to meet up with school fees payments among other family needs?

The truth of the matter is that it's not easy for parents to manage paying school fees and at the same sort out other expenses. The best way most parents do this is to let go of certain expenses or simply get other side gig.

In India private schools don't allow entry if parents can't pay school fees. Government schools are free. Parents who can't afford school fees shouldn't put their children in private schools.

Sometimes, some parents don't cut their clothes according to their seize. If you are not financial stable, you can take your children to government school. Most government schools in Nigeria use to offer free education. Life is simple but sometimes we make it difficult for ourselves.

I would feel so much as a failure if this happens to my kids. I would just have kids when I am financially ready to avoid this.

if it is a school that allows advance payment you can start with it by paying a percentage in advance to ease the workload for you
That's the best way to go. Start paying the school fees from the first week of resumption to make it easier to meet up.

School fees are very expensive nowadays. Most parents are required to manage their personal finances in a good manner for them to manage that.

In my country, elementary school to high school is free in public schools, and in private schools there are also expensive and cheap ones depending on the quality of the school. So if parents cannot afford to pay school fees, they must be able to make a side hustle to save. In addition, they can also ask for donations on social media if their parents are old or disabled. Surely many people are moved to donate even if it's only one dollar.

Don't you have in Nigeria public schools for free? Whenever possible, in the case of jeopardised finances, better to avoid private schools. In my country, some poor families that insist to enroll their children in private schools, end up becoming a burden to the third-aged family members, cause these latter pay the tuition fees. On the other hand, I can't judge all of them badly, as certain overpopulated public schools usually can't give to the children a high quality education.
