As online business people, of course we will encounter a lot of e-commerce fraud such as Account Takeover (ATO), Refund Fraud, Chargeback Fraud, Card Testing Fraud, etc. There are also many fraudulent buyers who use stolen credit cards or those belonging to other people, then they use them to buy products in your online shop. In general, online shop owners are late in identifying ecommerce fraud attacks, or they only find out after receiving complaints from genuine customers. So how do you prevent ecommerce fraud?

Yes ecommerce fraud is real and we just have to be careful as we sell or transsct business with people. Some customers are just scammers trying to run off with ones products or service. So we need to be watchful.

Unfortunately, this is true. There are many fraudsters who are scamming people. They usually ask for advance payment and they never deliver the products. In such kind of cases, both the buyer and the seller should be offered protection. I think that using services such as Escrow can significantly reduce scams.

It might not be very easy though, so i think we can simply try our best by just making sure you have made all the proper research before going into any from of deal with a client. Dont be too fast in your transactions.

Cybersecurity practices can help to prevent e-commerce fraud. Use safe and secure payment methods that include two-factor authentication. Invest in powerful systems that can track both small and large transactions. Teach your staff how to recognize suspicious conduct and encourage them to report it as soon as possible.
