I work in the accounting department of a big high school. I was recently promoted to head the account department. But I have lost interest in working for them. I have sent all the signs to them that I no longer want to work for them so they can fire me, but they don't just seem to be getting it.

Recently, I have been very indifferent about the department that I head such that the organization knows that the department is not working well. But they won't just fire me.

How come they don't see that I want to leave the organization?

Is it not better that you just resign than to be giving subtle signs? They must not fire you for you to leave the organization. Or is there something that you are not saying?

It's possible that they have noticed it but they are simply not willing to let you go cause they value you, or they simply have not seen a replacement yet.

Most likely, they have not seen a suitable replacement. Business organizations can be helpless like that sometimes.

If you are really not interested in working for the company, better find another job and resign instead of waiting for the company to fire you.
Indeed, it's better to submit a resignation letter rather than to wait for the day the company fires the employee who is no longer working for the school. It will be unfair receiving a salary. The best solution if you no longer like the administration is to resign.

Yes that's true, these days it's pretty hard to find good workers, so most businesses would prefer not to let the one they have go.

Maybe the signs that you are not giving them is not very clear ro them. It might be confusing for them. Maybe they misunderstood it as being not satisfied with the role and compensation and gave you a promotion. Or maybe they have got the hint and are not acting till they find some replacement for you.
If you are so unwilling to work, why don't you just resign in a professional way? That would be a better, sorted and professional way.

Don't worry they won't fire you untill you take it upon you and resign from your work they don't want to pay you for their dismissal
Would they rather have a staff that doesn't care about the company keep working with then simply because they don't want to pay for dismissal? That's so petty.

They may not understand your feelings, or they may have misinterpreted your signals, thinking you are unhappy with your job or salary. Could may be overestimating your true needs. Another possibility is that they may not want to take action until they understand your point and find a replacement. If you no longer want to work there, the proper and professional way to do so is to write a resignation letter and leave respectfully. This will ensure a satisfactory outcome, and will give you a good place to advance in the future, rather than leaving you feeling exhausted, frustrated, and without purpose.

Why do you have to show or produce poor performance if you are no longer interested, you should immediately resign, or write your resignation to the personnel department for various reasons. so that if you move to work elsewhere you still have a good reputation. If you are fired because of a reputation for being lazy and not good then you will have difficulty finding work elsewhere.
