How did you find your first customer?

A few days ago, I spoke with my friend about how she found her first customer as a small business and first-time business owner. She shared that her first customer was actually her boss. She offered her product for free, and her boss enjoyed it so much that he became a regular customer and even recommended it to his staff. How did you find your first customer?

My first customer was actually my family member, and from there i just kept posting then someone referred me to someone else.
