You can decide to do promotion like buy one and get one free to clear dead stock. One is not expecting to profit from it.
I think that businessmen with more of the dead stocks on their inventories, they ought to suffer some losses for the same. I think making promotion purposely is very expensive and burdening the business.
As a businessman, you can clear the dead stocks in various ways, such as rearranging product displays, flash sales, giving discounts, bundling sales, etc.
You can auction them to give wsy for new products. You can also do clearance sales or do any kind of promotion to clear them
In my case, i will reduce the price to sell it off or i will use it by myself. But ones expiry date reached, i will discard it. In business, lose is inevitable. After similar incident happened to me, i decided to be buy in small bulks.
For domains, I just let them expire or sell them at a very cheap price, if it is difficult to make money, it is not worth paying domain renewal fees.
