How Do You Decide on Creating Another Business

A lot of people like to own multiple businesses and a lot of people are successful in their multiple ventures. Let's say you are running a successful business,how do you decide on creating another business? What makes you decide on starting another business? Does your success give you confidence or do you believe you have enough skills and knowledge for another business?

For me, I can't create a new business outside my area of expertise and it must be related to my already existing successful business.

For me if i decide to start another business will simply be because i have been able to succeed in the first one so i have the confidence to start another.
