Some customers ass talkatives and would end up draining your staff with long conversations. You don't have to cut them off like that too else they would feel bad.

How do you politely end a conversation with a talkative customer without making the customer feel bad?

As a business person, you must be careful so as not to sound rude to your customer who's a talkative. Be polite enough to ask to be excused. You can even set an alarm to end the conversation at your convenience.

I think just being polite to tell him or her that you have lots of work to do would be cool. Some customers might take it to be rude though. Those are the toxic customers.
