So I am in my shop sewing, and a lady walks in and shows me that the slit of her skirt just tore. I have to obviously sew the slit for her. I get the skirt from her, and in two minutes, I sew the slit for her.

That's a "little work" right? I am not supposed to charge her right? I didn't spend up to five minutes on that right?

This happens across many other businesses and services. How can a business person handle that?

At the end of the day, the crw minutes you spent on that lilttle job could have been used on a paying job, so they are not actually paying for the job but for your time, if on your own you decide not to take payment that's fine, but the people has to at least make effort to try and pay. Some even tell them to pay anything they like.

You got it absolutely spot on. The time you spent on that job that they want you to do free can be used to advance a paying job. People have to learn to value the time of people.
