There are others who are in the same filed as me, from time to time i do chat them up, we tend to learn from one another, and help out each other when we can.

When I was running a restaurant, there were other restaurants few blocks away. Instead of treating them as competitors I build good relationship
I always make sure that I build a very cordial relationship with the other businesses around me. I even help them out with my expertise when they have issues.
In my line of business, we don't really compete in the context of business competition. That's why we have good rapport amongst us even as we do the same business.
