How does Tru Caller identify numbers that call?

True Caller app helps people to identify an unknown phone number that calls him or her. The app would display information about the strange number that calls you.

Would love to know how Tru Caller is able to identify the numbers? Which database do they access to get those information about those numbers?

Tru Caller outsources information of callers from people that are registered on their platform. They match the information with that of multiple users.

I might be wrong though, but i think they can only identify the number of those who are registered with them.
