How much do people depend on AI?

ChatGPT was down for some time yesterday. And there was so much outrage about the language model being down.

I have come to ask, "how much do people have to depend on AI nowadays"? Why does ChatGPT downtime cause do much outrage on social media and online space?

Personally I feel at the moment people are too dependent on the use of artificial intelligence and it is becoming alarming.

People can't even sit down to craft a text message nowadays by themselves. They give that to AI to do for them.

Yeah people are becoming mentally lazy as I see this amongst my friends. They rely on Ai heavily now

It depends on how much the person is using technology. I personally do not use ai at all, and I do not plan to use it in future also, since there is no paid work available.

Even the simplest thing as calculating simple interest or simple comprehension, people now rely much on AI.

I depend on AI for much of the accounting analysis that I do. It has made my job much easier and less tasking.
