I've been studying how content is ranked on TikTok these days, and it seems to me that the algorithm has evolved a lot to prioritize quality and relevance over quantity of posts. It's not enough to upload a lot of videos; what now weighs more is user interaction (likes, comments, time spent watching) and what the video conveys: appropriate hashtags, coherent descriptions, trending sounds, and a good hook at the beginning.
Something that surprised me is how important it is to capture attention in the first few seconds. If you start with an interesting hook, for example, a clear promise of what you're going to show, or a direct question, viewers are more likely to stick around, which signals to the algorithm that your content is worthwhile. Additionally, it seems that the more aligned your content is with specific communities or subcultures on TikTok, the better. It's not just about massive virality, but about resonating with groups that actually interact with each other.
Another thing I noticed: authenticity continues to be key. Perfect production isn't necessary; a lot of content with simple aesthetics works if it's authentic. That, and consistency: posting when your audience is active also helps a lot.
What do you think? What has been the strategy that has worked best for you to get your videos recommended by the TikTok algorithm in 2025?
