Before you buy a domain, you need to understand the domain structure. A domain mainly consist two parts.
Top Level Domain (TLD): This is the domain extension, like .com, .net, .org, or newer ones like .tech, .blog. etc.
Second Level Domain (SLD): This is the main part of the domain name, which comes before the extension, for example, in yoursite(dot)com, “yoursite” is the second level domain.
SLD has more SEO value compared to TLD
