If you want to thrive as a self-employed individual, remote worker, or a freelancer, you need to create a consistent workflow. How do you do it?

Build long-term client relationships

Look for retainer contracts or recurring tasks

Continue learning to stay ahead of market trends

Getting clients is one thing. Making them repeat buyers requires you to consistently deliver quality. This is what sets successful freelancers apart.

How can one actually retain these customers though, i was able to build two awhile back. One of the still messages me asking for prices but would rather do some of the designs herself ( not professional but usable) with canva, but still referring me others, while the other one just stopped, recently i noticed some new logo and flyers on her status, so am guessing she has got another designer.

Very True. I learned this in my journey as a freelancer. Once you get a bad review you chances of getting new clients becomes really really slim.
