I've been testing various strategies that integrate SEO into Instagram, and I want to share what's been working for me and what I see as essential to standing out on that platform.
First, make your username (handle) and profile name strong and recognizable. If you already have an established brand, using its name helps a lot so people can easily find you when they search for it. Optimizing your bio is also key: use keywords related to your niche so Instagram understands what your account is about.
Another point: post text. Instead of just pretty images, it's better to accompany them with specific, short, relevant captions that use real search keywords within your niche. Well-chosen hashtags, descriptive alt text for images, and taking advantage of profile features like category, location, or website link also count a lot.
Engagement is another factor you can't neglect. Appearing in searches isn't much use if there's no real interaction: comments, saves, shares. What I do is respond quickly to comments, encourage people to share their experiences, and generate content that invites conversation.
