If you are renting this time, well it is hard because of the rent that may fluctuate every year. There is a suggestion on how to live rent-free. You may like to follow or agree on this.

1. Buy a 3 bedroom house;
2. Live in one room and rent out the other two, and
3. Your mortgage payments will be covered by the rental income.

That's a good idea. But you need to have money to pay for the downpayment. And be sure that you can rent out the other two rooms easily.
That's the problem. Usually the landlord ask for a one month advance and a two or three months deposit. It's better to scout for renters and to look in advance a house for rent.

That's a good suggestion but there are people like me who don't like to share house with someone else and need privacy
This is only good for a single person who wants to have a home he can call his own. I, too don't feel comfortable when there's another person living with me not family related.

I remember during our childhood as my parents were struggling for money so they kept a family in our house along with us as tenants but that decision was not good as they destroyed our privacy.

Nah, it's indeed not good to have a renter in our house and
@Augusta ,that is right mate, it's best to live rent free.

I'm bad with people and I enjoy my alone time so sharing house would be the problem however if the people would be friendly I would not mind it that much however it is not conditions I would like to live in
It is only a suggestion for those homeless who only live in renting. I am also hesitant to let other people live with me despite paying the other room. The problem is , the attitude of the renter.

I would suggest if you have separate portion in your house by which your privacy is not affected if you give it on rent then you should give it to earn some indirect income.

We have 6 bedrooms. Our property is fenced. We have a swimming pool at the roof top. I think the other persons at home will abuse swimming in our swimming pool without helping to clean it.

You should not rent your property when there are common places like bathrooms, lawns, garden, swimming pools etc
