In every production process, not all goods produced meet quality standards, so the company will group them as spoiled goods or reject goods. So how can we utilize reject goods so that it will reduce losses?
That depends on what kind of goods. If it is food, when it gets rotten, you have no choice but throw it away. If it is goods which only have some minor defects, you may sell them at a lower price mentioning the defects.
Rejected goods are usually sold at a lower price, if they are not perishable. Some people can afford to ignore minor defects in the product or blemishes, and use the product, especially if they have a limited budget.
One multi-national company here in the city where I live manufactured Del Monte Pineapple products. My sister is a chemist and she is assigned to the Quality Control Department. She told me that those canned products that do not pass the standard are rejected and thus cannot be exported. They are sold separately at a lower price direct from the company.
