According to the report, two firefighters were shot dead and another critically wounded in a suspected ambush while responding to a forest fire in northern Idaho on June 29. The gunman, believed to have started the blaze, was later found dead, according to the Kootenai County Sheriff. “These firefighters didn’t have a chance,” Sheriff Bob Norris said.
