An impersonator has allegedly got the government records for my tax id changed, and the fathers name is now different due to which I cannot access/update some of the my investments, What are the legal options to find out the impersonators address, id and ensure that the impersonator does not falsely claim to own my tax id in future?

Your country might have given you a personal account number. You can use that to contact the income tax department of your country.
The most successful way to deal with this type of scam is to sue them. Get a lawyer and do this, and you will most likely receive compensation.
I doubt you can do this without using the inside people to get the impersonator information. you need to work with those that can help you travel the person
People will never think in this manner. They think if I pay a lawyer what is my monetary benefit and if I forget about it what is my monetary value, by this way people are thinking if amount is bigger than money paid to lawyer or not.
