According to the report, at the end of his life, Pope Francis made one last symbolic gesture: He emptied his personal bank account to donate 200,000 euros to the prisoners he had long championed. It was a final act of love toward those he had called his "brothers and sisters behind bars," an act that Bishop Benoni Ambarus, auxiliary Bishop of Rome and director of the Office for Prison Pastoral Care, said captures the very essence of Francis's pontificate.

The report said that Ambarus has witnessed firsthand the pope's commitment to the incarcerated. Even as his strength visibly declined, Francis refused to abandon the most forgotten members of society during Holy Week.

Pope Francis has a strong bond with the prisoners and considers them God's children and deserve a life they cherish, which they failed to achieve because of the crimes they committed. With the passing of Pope Francis, those prisoners he gifted with his money sent notes to the Pope in his burial ground to show their everlasting love. The prison work Francis inspired continues, albeit with new challenges. The pastoral ministry that grew around the Rebibbia Holy Door now involves about 50 people joining the prisoners twice a month.

That's a very touching one, hopefully the money would be used for what it was donated for. Its not easy to see people with this pure heart.
Pope Francis always visited the said prison and got closer to the prisoners. Those prisoners felt empty when they learned about the death of the Pope. But the Catholic sisters promised to continue what Pope Francis had started.
