According to the report, the Philippine government is ramping up efforts to attract more Indian tourists by familiarizing travel agencies across India with the country’s top destinations and tourism offerings. At an invitation-only itinerary training held in Delhi last October 15, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said heightened interest in the Philippines was evident among the Indian travel agents and industry professionals present.

The report also stated that the Delhi session was just the opening salvo in a sustained drive of similar ‘Itinerary Trainings.’ Buzz Travel is taking the series across India, including in Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, and Kolkata, for which the Embassy and its network of Honorary Consulates General will again lend support.

According to the DFA, Indian agencies expressed enthusiasm for the Philippines’ diverse offerings, adventures to budget, all the way to the ultra-high experiences afforded by exclusive hotels and even private island escapes. The increased engagement comes as the Philippines seeks to diversify its market and attract the massive Indian outbound tourist population.

In addition to the report, the Philippines has recently introduced a visa-free scheme for Indian tourists, coupled with Air India’s five weekly direct flights between Manila and New Delhi. Beyond the visa-free scheme and new direct flights, the DFA said incomes, appetite for travel, and desire to move beyond over-explored Asian destinations have increased among Indian nationals.

In 2024, over 30.89 million Indians traveled abroad, marking a 10.79 percent increase from the previous year. Of these, about 78,000 visited the Philippines.

From my perspective, the Philippine government's efforts to attract Indian tourism appear to be a smart and necessary strategy in a market as large and growing as India. The variety of tourism offerings, from budget adventures to exclusive experiences, reflects an inclusive vision that can appeal to different traveler segments. Furthermore, the introduction of unrestricted visas for Indians and direct flights significantly strengthens the ease of visiting the Philippines, which will surely increase interest and visits in the near future. It is interesting to note how Indians' interest in less explored and more diverse destinations coincides with these initiatives, which could position the Philippines as a preferred destination on their travel lists. Ultimately, this diversified and well-planned strategy has the potential to expand the presence of Indian tourism in the Philippines, benefiting the economy and promoting cultural and commercial exchanges.

This was prepared by the Department of Tourism to make sure of the safety of the Indians during their visit to my country. They are guided to the right tourist spots to avoid wasting their precious vacation.

Philippians are trying seems to me they trying to establish their tourism in fact to lure Indians so that they can help boast their tourism sector every country need to boast its tourism sector as long as the security there is fine and in good condition we good to go

My country has 5 million tourists coming yearly. Most of them are from the USA, China, Singapore, Germany, Thailand, South Korea, New Zealand, Australia, UK and more. We have many tourist spots in the Philippines like the famous Boracay.
