Flash floods struck Sumatra Island over the weekend, resulting in the loss of 50 lives. Rescue teams have been scouring the rivers for survivors and bodies. They have also been searching the affected villages for any signs of life. The flash floods were caused by landslides from Mt. Marapi, which resulted in the rivers overflowing their banks, combined with the heavy monsoon rains. The floods caused widespread destruction, with homes and buildings being submerged and swept away by the rushing waters. In total, 3,300 people have been forced to evacuate their homes and are currently residing in temporary shelters provided by the government. Rescue operations are still underway, with 27 people yet to be found.

It is also the picture in our country when there is a ferocious storm and devastating flash flood. Thousands of lives are carried away.
Yea that's why they call it flash floods, they happen so fast when no one actually expects them to happen.

Residents here are informed in advance to vacate their homes for safety of their lives. When yellow warning is raised people near the sea, river, and lakes are advised to learner their homes immediately. Others left their homes before the yellow warning is raised.

That's the right thing to do. They need to evacuate their homes inti temporary shelters provided by the government for now
In such a scenario, it is advisable for people to seek refuge in the temporary shelters provided by the government. This is the most effective way to ensure their safety and well-being.

I could not agree more. This is especially true in our country, particularly in flood-prone areas. People should evacuate as soon as possible to prevent the loss of life.

Unexpected disasters can take place suddenly, leaving people with no escape. It is essential to listen to the advice of local government officials and evacuate when instructed, rather than waiting for the situation to worsen.

I am scared to watch a TV news about the effects of a devastating flood where dead bodies are shown landing anywhere. It's very devastating.

It happens every year here on the mountains. Many people lose their lives because of it. How this could be stopped?
They better not live in the mountain part because of the possible landslide, or they better seek advice from the local government if it is safe to live there.
