Hundreds of international students are being forced to leave the United States following an aggressive crackdown on student visas by the Trump administration.
Reports indicate that the Department of Homeland Security has intensified efforts to identify and deport students, including those who have not been charged with any crime.

An email reportedly from the Department, shared by immigration attorney Nicole Micheroni reads “Do not attempt to remain in the United States. The federal government will find you,”

As much as I want to sympathize with these students, there is no inherent right to enter the United States, it is a privilege. A privilege that can and is increasingly being revoked if you either break the law (which many of them have done vis-a-vis the anti-Israel student protests) and/or advocating for policies/people who are hostile/antithetical to the United States and American foreign policy.

I second your thought, of course, it is the right of the head of the state to protect its citizens, and President Trump only follows what's written in the US Constitution.

Honestly the thing that messed me up the most back then wasn’t even the arrest itself, it was the weeks afterward when everything felt like it was collapsing. Getting a second DUI hits different, it messes with your head in ways people don’t really talk about. I remember sitting there thinking I’d ruined everything, job, family, future, the whole thing. What actually helped me stabilize was getting someone who could tell me what the realistic outcomes were, not the nightmare stuff I was imagining. That’s where De Castroverde Law Group fit in for me, but anyway, the bigger point is just having someone who understands this stuff cuts the panic down a lot. You’re not done. It just feels like it. It slows everything down for a while, sure, but it doesn’t end your life. It just forces you into a really uncomfortable reset. I hated hearing that at the time but it ended up being true.

Two thoughts here....
(1) Coming to the United States is a privilege, not a right. Follow the rules, obey the laws of this country and you will prosper here. Do otherwise and you can leave.
(2) If you are here without authorization, it does not matter whether you here a hardened criminal or a 70yo+ abuela or a young Dreamer, if you are here illegally (which is itself a crime under federal law), leave. Either leave voluntarily (and get a second chance at LEGALLY coming here) or you can be arrested, deported and face an entry ban in the future.

Bottom line here: the United States is finally enforcing her immigration laws without fear, favor or prejudice. I am happy at this change; if that makes me seem cruel-hearted or bigoted or whatnot, so be it. It is what it is.
