I have noticed that some of the largest internet companies are hiring employees based on their names. Have you noticed this trend in your country, is the name more important than other factors?
It appears that in many countries caste or tribe remains most important, most top government, corporate jobs are held by Brahmins, banias, gujjus, sindhis and they are extremely vicious in criminally defaming professionals from powerless communities.
It is my first time hearing about this practice. Here, it is not common for people to be hired based on their names. Instead, employers select candidates who are qualified for the role and consider other factors.
Earlier large companies would hire based on qualifications, merit, in the last decade, the name of the person has become most important, especially for the internet sector.
