I think it’s always better to invest in yourself first. Investing in the stock market can be more passive, meaning you can invest in an ETF and forget about it and it should grow your money over the long run.

The caveat here is you realistically need a lot of capital in the stock market to replace your income.

Contrary to that, if you launch your own business, you are teaching yourself a lot of useful skills that can be applied at another company if this doesn’t work out. And, you can get started with relatively smaller upfront capital versus investing to earn the same amount.

Hi, I largely agree with what you're saying. I believe investing in yourself is fundamental, as developing skills and knowledge can open many doors in the future, whether in a job or your own business. Investing in the stock market can be passive and long-term, but you generally need considerable capital to generate significant income and replace your salary. On the other hand, starting your own business can require less initial capital and allows you to learn many useful skills, such as management, sales, and problem-solving. Although it's riskier, it can also be very rewarding, and if it doesn't work out, the skills you acquire will always be useful for future opportunities. Ultimately, I think a balance between both options would be ideal: investing in yourself while also considering investing in the market or a business venture, depending on your circumstances and goals.
