I think it’s always better to invest in yourself first. Investing in the stock market can be more passive, meaning you can invest in an ETF and forget about it and it should grow your money over the long run.
The caveat here is you realistically need a lot of capital in the stock market to replace your income.
Contrary to that, if you launch your own business, you are teaching yourself a lot of useful skills that can be applied at another company if this doesn’t work out. And, you can get started with relatively smaller upfront capital versus investing to earn the same amount.
