The Iran's reformist government, led by President Masoud Pezeshkian, has lifted the nation's ban on WhatsApp and Google Play, This marks an initial step toward reducing internet restrictions for its population of 85 million.

The decision, made during a high-level meeting chaired by Pezeshkian, overcame resistance from hardline factions within the Islamic regime. Telecommunications Minister Sattar Hashemi described the move as a milestone, we took the first step towards lifting internet restrictions by demonstrating unity.

I guess that's a good one, though am pretty sure some persons where probably using VPN to access these services before now.
That's right I'm sure they couldn't just do without these two at least to still maintain their connection

The citizens had still been using those platforms with VPNs still. It is just them making it free for people to use without VPN.
