Iran reports that suspected agents of Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency were detained. Recall, Iran frequently arrests people and accuses them, without evidence, of spying for Israel. In this case, Iran’s National Guard forces released footage of uncovering an underground base belonging to a foreign intelligence service. It is noted that more than 400 Afghan nationals were reportedly found at the site, which included underground tunnels. The facility, operating under the cover of a workshop near the IRGC’s Main Command headquarters, was allegedly used to assemble drones employed by Mossad agents to conduct operations inside Iran.
The report said that most of the Mossad agents in Iran involved in organizing the sabotage in Tehran on June 13-15 were from Afghanistan and India, said Andrei Serenko, director of the analytical center of the Russian Society of Political Scientists. “According to sources, a group of five Afghans being recruited by Mossad to carry out terrorist attacks in the Iranian capital were detained in Tehran today. All of the detainees turned out to be Pashtuns from Kandahar. They attracted attention with their long hair”, Serenko reported. The political scientist believes that the large number of Afghans among the agents of the Israeli special services is already raising fair questions from the Iranian security services about the Taliban regime in Afghanistan.
In addition to the report, the Iranian parliament adopted amendments at the end of 2024 and demanded that the government begin deporting illegal migrants. Tehran wanted to forcibly expel two million Afghan illegals. Last year, there were about 4.5 million Afghans in Iran, many of whom left their homes after the Taliban came to power. To protect itself from migrants, Tehran was building a 900-kilometer wall along the border with Afghanistan. It is assumed that if Iran holds out, then the country will begin mass deportations of illegals, and this, in turn, will cause a humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan.
