Public dissatisfaction with Ayatollah Khamenei’s traditional governance style and leadership has intensified significantly, cutting across social media and economic groups. There are key manifestations of discontent of Khamenei.

Since early 2025, slogans like “Death to Khamenei “have been chanted openly in streets, on social media, and even from rooftops, a stark shift from past private grievances. Protests have erupted over issues such as power outages, water shortages, economic hardship, and record executions, with many directly targeting the supreme leader and the clerical regime's foundation.

Khamenei’s declaration of victory in the June 2025 conflict with Israel and the US was met with widespread disbelief and ridicule. His prolonged seclusion after the war further eroded public trust, with many viewing him as out of touch and cowardly.

I don't think he was liked by the people in the past either. He is a dictator and is ruling the country, depriving people of their freedom to speak and live as per their own wish.
Yes, you are so right, it was long ago Iranians showed dislikeness of Khamenei. Khamenei's regime is brutal; he does not stop the military and police to capture, torture, and kill those wo oppose the rules and policies.
