Bribery is generally considered unethical and often illegal. It undermines fairness, transparency, and the rule of law. However, the perception of evil is subjective and depends on cultural context and individual moral frameworks. Some cultures might view certain forms of gift-giving as acceptable, even if they blur the lines with bribery. For a global perspective, most countries have laws against bribery, recognizing its corrosive effect on society. The severity of punishment varies widely across jurisdictions.

The Philippines has anti-bribery laws, and their enforcement varies. Cultural norms might influence the prevalence and acceptance of bribery in certain sectors. While bribery is illegal and unethical, it is important to understand the complexities of the local context.

Ultimately, whether an act constitutes bribery depends on the specific circumstances, intent, and values of the involved parties. While small gifts of gratitude might be acceptable in some situations, actions that seek to unfairly influence decisions or gain an advantage are unethical and illegal

Giving or taking bribes is wrong, and can be considered as evil in most cases. Unfortunately we are in a generation where bribery is seen as normal.

My dear friend @Starmix for answer your question, it's important to remember that donations made in a friendly manner through the exchange of favors and actual corruption are two entirely different things. The first would be a voluntary system for repaying people who offer us help and this is pleasantly legitimate and accepted. On the other hand instead the corruption is one of the many ills plaguing society, especially since those who pay for otherwise ineffective consent often almost certainly the target is for committing something illegal or anyway incorrect.

Bribery is rampant anywhere in the world. Those who are bribed are hard to get people and high ranking especially in the military and police. We don't know their real motives but it's assured that bribing a high ranking person means getting attention for a job acceptance or promotion.

Indeed most of those who commit bribery are powerful people and millionaires who always manage to cover everything up.

Correct, they want to shut up the mouth of the person who might have witnessed a crime without thinking that he will also be implicated with the crime committed by the briber.

You're right, even though unfortunately corruption like the mafia, is one of humanity's many evils that is unfortunately ineradicable.

That happens when there's a big fish backing up a criminal because of a huge amount bribed to the authorities.

It is a necessary evil that is why a lot of people indulge it but no matter how we wants to look at it. it is bad.
You're right, as you can see we all agree that it is one of the many evils of humanity.

Bribery should be totally discouraged in every sector of work. When we bribe a person to do some work we are harming the whole society as this person will never work without a bribe. Giving tips to a poor sweeper on festive days is something else.

Agree, but some corrupt people never care and the briber play dumb despite his actions wrong. The image of our society becomes filthy due to bribery.

the bribee violates a duty of loyalty arising out of his office, position, or involvement in some practice. The briber, in turn, commits the morally wrongful act of inducing another to be disloyal.

Indeed, bribery, which as has been explained is an evil of humanity, unfortunately has other branches of action such as: extortion, abuse of office, embezzlement, false accounting, undue inducement, fraud, etc.
