Yes I think we have a distorted view because for me history should ne written by a variety of individuals and groups, including those who lose, using various sources and methods

At the end of the day we don't get to hear from the other side but only one side, so there is every possibility that certain things has been changed to suit one party.
Its always one sided we always hear one side while the other side is been ignored so we might say yes only winners do.
No history is written by historians who have outlived that Era.
