Is honestly still a virtue ?

I remember some time back while I was still trying different things to make money, i came across a platform that requires i refer people to earn. I often explain how the platform works to potential clients, telling them the advantages and disadvantages but was not able to get any clients, then my up liner told me i won't get any referral because i was too honest with them. Do you think it is impossible to succeed in a business while being honest?

In fact, honesty is still very much needed in our daily lives, both to parents, girlfriends, friends, etc. but in vocational business, cons are often not expressed, so only good things are expressed, such as when bargaining for products on the side of the road, the seller only promotes the advantages of the product and will never discuss the disadvantages of the product, no different from influencers on various social media.

Honesty is the best policy, but this time, I rarely see or encounter honest people. One factor might be greed or politics.

Yes there are a lot of businesses like that, they tend to hide the negative side of the business showcasing only the positive side.

I believe honesty is needed in a business. If you lie to your customers, you may get short-term benefits, but in the long run, people will know and that will ruin the reputation of your business.

I can't compromise with honesty especially as I am a business person. It has always been a guiding watch word for me.

Honesty is the most scarce resources and many people don't think is necessary to survive with it. We have criminals and touts in government, how can these set of people inspire the youths to live honestly?
