I have a coworker who is a mom and she told me that her child has graduated from college and just got a good job, but when her mom asked her child how much his salary was, the child did not want to answer, the mom did not mean to ask for her child's salary but just wanted to know whether her child could manage finances or not, so in your opinion, is it appropriate for a mom to ask how much her child earns?

I personally don't see anything wrong with asking your child how much you earn though. It's normal for parents to want to know everything about their child.

In India most mom don't need to ask. Our children share their what they earn with their parents.

It means in India, children are very devoted to their parents, willing to share a small portion of their income with their parents, whereas in my country, although it still exists, it has started to disappear.

I don't hide anything from my parents and I would willingly tell them how much I earn. It is normal for me.
