Okay, so Bill Ackman, this big-shot hedge fund guy, gave $10,000 to ICE agent Jonathan Ross – the one who shot and killed Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis. This has caused a stir online and in newspapers, raising questions about whether it's okay for rich people to get involved in tricky legal cases.

Ackman says it's not political; he just wants to help defendants pay for their legal defense. But a lot of people are saying he's basically rewarding a murderer.

I think this brings up a really tough question. Sure, everyone deserves a fair trial and all that. But it feels wrong when it looks like someone is supporting violence by throwing money at the situation. So, should there be limits on how millionaires throw their weight around in these sensitive legal cases? What's your take?
