There are two fashion shops in the complex I operate. I sell ready to wear and the other lady sells sewing materials alongside her normal sewing jobs. Normally, we really don't compete because we all have our customers. But I had an interest in selling sewing materials right from time. I was constrained by capital which I have secured now.

Should I go ahead to sell the sewing materials ? Would it be me opening a competition against her?

There is no written rule that you must not sell anything you want to sell because your neighbour is selling it. No sentiments in business. If you see a gap in how she sells her own, exploit it , give a better offering and drive her out of the business.

Where there is no law that stopes you from doing so, but the question is what does your conscience say? I think that is the important thing you need to look into.
