One of my clients came around today and wanted my services. As a professional, I knew that what he was expectant of was not the best for him. And I tried to make him see reasons because that service would have my brand signature on it when it gets out.

The client was adamant. I had to do what he wanted and avoid my signature on the final product.

I want to ask, as a pro business person, is it right to disagree with a customer over the choice of your products he wants to buy?

When I had a job, there were many cases when the customer wanted a better deal and was not willing to pay the price. So the dispute was documented so that a decision could be taken later.

If it is something I cannot do then I will tell them my mind and if in the end I can't do the job then someone else can take it. But there are some cases where after telling them what I think about it and they still insist I do it. If I can actually do it, I just go ahead with it.

There is a way that you can make suggestions to your clients or customers or educate them without it being confrontational. I have been doing that and customers get to appreciate me for that.
