We have so many private schools springing up and I am at loss if they should be run typically as businesses with the sole aim to make profits?

How can they strike a balance between running it as a business and ensuring that it doesn't get diluted with focus on money?

Yes running a school can also be seen or describe as a business. One way to stay focus though is by setting a standard and finding the right people who would stick to that standard. These days most schools are simply to focused on making money rather than actually teaching.

Owning a school is indeed a business. The owner applied it to the Department of Education with bond at least 1 million, building and the required space, teachers and materials . It's the procedure here. And the applicants must be a full pledged Ph. D. I dunno in your country.

In India most private schools are commercially run. They concentrate less on education and more on profit. I have worked in private schools and have seen the shady things they do to earn money.

There are only few private schools that still have education in those schools. For most, education has left and we only have business centres. Schools in my country intentionally engage in exam malpractices with the full co ordination of the owner, just to keep the business running.

Yes, a lot of them. are mere business cehters. They help the kids to do slo sorts so that they can promote their schools as the best to get more customers

Running a school is both a business and a social concern. The school needs to be financially sustainable to continue operations and pay the teachers while at the same time adhering to a social responsibility of seeing the welfare of the students. Most private schools in my country are now getting subsidies from the government and it isnreally a big help

It is not suppose to be seen as a business especially the creche and primary school. It suppose to be considered a charity organizations because the level of service can not be measured with and by money. One of my friend is teaching in primary school and every time she came back, she will be exhausted. The shouting, the nuisance and crying is too much for a sane person to bear.

Yeah but the monetary benefit will also help the teachers to do better and even do the job with passion. Teaching isn't an easy job at all

The running of a school business is really very profitable and lucrative too. Though very capital intensive due to the high demand of a larger piece of land, the business pays off.
Yes, it is a lucrative business especially in the urban cites you would make good money

There are what we call social businesses and you don't have to always see profits as the main driving factor in such businesses. School is one of such. I am not saying they should run at a loss but putting profits first? You would compromise on building the future of those kids entrusted into your hands.
