Is Photography Still a Good Business in 2025?

To be honest, I don’t think it’s easy to start a photography business anymore. This is one of the businesses that is dying. That’s because these days everyone has high-end smartphones that can take incredible photos. AI tools and photo editing apps can make average photos look professional. There are free tutorials making easy for anyone to learn the photo tricks. Having said that there’s still demand for professional photographs for weddings and events, product photos and branding. The market is saturated and it is difficult unless you have a a good network and impressive portfolio.

It's still a good and lucrative business but not everyone can actually be successful or standout, due to the high competition and lots of people in photography.

In my place many photography stations were closed no more customers. It seems there's only one surviving. Many can capture via phones or digital cameras. Gone are the days when photography was extremely in demand.

Photography business is even becoming more profitable than it used to be some few years ago. There is greater need for it.

It is still profitable but you need some level of recognition and skills to excel in the field. Professional photographers are still cashing out big especially during festive periods.
