I know that some business owners really frown at a staff skipping work. It disrupts the flow and the operation of the business.

But do you think that staying away from work is enough reason for a business owner to fire a staff?

I completely understand that when an employee is absent without justification, it can affect business operations. However, I believe that firing someone simply for being absent isn't always the best solution. It's important to investigate the reasons behind the absence. Sometimes, it might be due to personal problems, health issues, or emergencies that require understanding and support. Of course, if an employee is repeatedly absent without notice and without a valid reason, that does demonstrate a lack of commitment and could justify disciplinary action or even dismissal. But in isolated cases or for justifiable reasons, I think the best approach is to talk to the employee, understand their situation, and find solutions. Loyalty and mutual respect also strengthen the working relationship. Firing someone without first analyzing the context can create a negative image and affect the morale of the rest of the team.

I think instead of sacking the staff, a deduction could be made on her salary. Most staff are made to sign an undertaking promising never to violate the rules governing the organization again and should be punished as agreed in the document.

I would never support having to fire a staff because they couldn't make it to work just to once. You have to hear them out first.
I don't think anyone does that to a one time doer. It is mostly for staff that are consistent with the habits

As a member of staff, you should inform the management about your absence in advance so that somebody else gets assigned to your place of work.
Yeah right this is the right thing to do. But some people wouldn't do this . But then it is wrong to just tire someone just because of this

Staying away from work just once or twice is not enough to fire a staff. If it happens everyday, it is in place to fire.
